What does the OHF do?
As the philanthropic arm of Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, The Oshawa Hospital Foundation seeks to:
- Raise funds for capital projects, the acquisition of equipment, research and the enhancement of patient care at the Hospital and the Cancer Centre.
- Promote and enhance the public's awareness of the community benefits provided by the Hospital and the Cancer Centre.

What can you expect when volunteering for the OHF?
You will find being a part of this organization will offer many rewards. You will have a chance to meet new and inspiring people, develop fresh ideas, use your skills or learn new ones.

What type of task will I be working on?
Depending on your interest you may be required to perform a number of tasks within the office or at events. Some common tasks include event reception, live and silent auction spotters, as well as administrative duties in the office.

What type of events can I be involved in?
The OHF is involved in more than a dozen events per year. Some of these are golf tournaments, galas, car washes, athletic events or luncheons. Each event we requires volunteers to help support different aspects on event days.

I am a high school student. Can I volunteer with the OHF and get the 40 hours I require to graduate?
Absolutely. We have many High School students who volunteer for us at special events earning hours towards their community service time required for graduation.

How much time do I have to commit?
Different volunteer roles have different levels of commitment. Your contribution is greatly appreciated whether it’s a couple hours a week, a month or a year.
